En abril de 1911 Albert Einstein se fue a vivir a Praga. Tenía treinta y seis años. Fue tan casual como histórico el hecho de que al lí conociese a un joven abogado judío checo que escribía relatos en alemán, se llamaba Franz Kafka. Tenía veintiocho años. Einstein fue incluido en las habituales tertulias del café Louvre, el centro intelectual de Praga en aquel momento, donde se escuchaba música y se montaban unas tertulias del más alto nivel intelectual.
